The Indiana Pacers’ radio broadcast will sort of sound like a TV broadcast during the second quarter of Game 3 of the NBA Finals.
Chris Denari, the play-by-play voice on the FanDuel Sports Network, has accepted an invitation from radio voice Mark Boyle to call the second quarter against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
“Very flattered for Mark and the radio crew’s generosity,” Denari posted on social media, noting he also called a Pacers game on the radio with Bobby “Slick” Leonard handling analysis in 2000, the last time the Pacers made the NBA Finals.
Denari teams with Quinn Buckner during the regular season and in early playoff rounds. TNT broadcasted the Eastern Conference Finals and ABC has the Finals.
Boyle noted on social media: “Just because he foolishly chose TV over radio doesn’t mean he shouldn’t experience The Finals. He’s earned it.”
