Colts to hold joint practices with two teams during preseason

INDIANAPOLIS — The Colts will hold joint practices with the Ravens and Packers before their preseason games.

Indianapolis will hold a day of practices in Baltimore with the Ravens before a 7 p.m. game on Aug. 7, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh told reporters on Wednesday.

The Colts will also hold joint practices with Green Bay at Grand Park before the team’s Aug. 16 preseason game, Indianapolis head coach Shane Steichen confirmed. Steichen did not offer the details, but the Colts have traditionally hosted teams for two days of practices at Grand Park before the second home preseason game.

Steichen indicated Indianapolis may also have more in the works.

The Colts spent a day in Cincinnati practicing with the Bengals before last season’s preseason matchup, and it’s possible they could do it again.

Indianapolis has expanded its participation in joint practices since Steichen was hired, particularly on the road. Before Steichen was hired, the Colts typically hosted opponents for a joints practice under former head coach Frank Reich, but Steichen has taken the Colts to joint practices in Philadelphia and Cincinnati the last two preseasons.
