April 1 marks my first year as president of Bradley University. It has been a year defined not just by progress, but by the people and community who have made that progress possible.
We have something very special on this campus: a community that believes in its mission, believes in its students, and believes in each other. This university is deeply connected to the people who live and work here, and that connection is something special.

Over the past year, I have had the privilege of seeing Bradley pride reawaken in meaningful ways. I have seen it in the enthusiasm of our students, in the dedication of our faculty and staff, and in the support of alumni and community members who continue to believe in Bradley’s future.
Together, that shared belief has translated into real momentum.
We’ve made important investments in our campus, including renovations to University Hall that will enhance student spaces at the heart of Bradley. We’ve also broken ground on the new Zaleski Recreation Complex, a project made possible through extraordinary generosity and a shared commitment to student wellness and campus life. These are not just construction projects; they are reflections of what we can accomplish together.
That same spirit has guided our efforts beyond campus. We have reconnected with alumni across the country, strengthening relationships that open doors for our students and extend Bradley’s impact far beyond Peoria. We have also expanded partnerships with other institutions, creating new pathways for students to come to Bradley and for our graduates to pursue advanced degrees.
We are seeing renewed energy in prospective student interest and continued confidence in Bradley’s future. That momentum is a credit to the many people who have invested their time, talent, and resources into this university.
On campus, we are also expanding opportunities for students to find connection and pursue their passions, including the launch of new Premier Club Sports like women’s ice hockey and women’s flag football. These experiences help shape not only a student’s time at Bradley, but who they become long after they leave.
At the center of all of this is a simple concept. We move forward together as One Bradley: a commitment to collaboration, shared purpose, and collective progress.
As I reflect on this first year, I am especially grateful for the warm welcome I have received, for the trust placed in me, and for the many people who have embraced the work ahead.
The momentum we’re building belongs to all of us.
We will continue moving forward as One Bradley, guided by the vision of our Founder Lydia Moss Bradley, who directed us to recruit and develop young people who are independent, industrious and will serve their communities.
Thank you, Peoria, for believing in Bradley.
The work continues, and I look forward to what we will accomplish together.
