The Jacksonville Jaguars are finding themselves shorthanded at the linebacker position early on in training camp.
Jack Kiser is sidelined for the time being, working through an injury, although he is expected to return sometime during training camp.
Jared Bartlett, who was signed recently with Kiser injured, suffered a leg injury during Tuesday’s practice, according to ESPN’s Michael DiRocco.
DiRocco adds that Foye Oluokun’s snaps are limited as of now during the team periods, which means there are more reps for others to absorb.
An addition at this position is likely on the way, although don’t expect it to be a major signing. Rather, the team will be looking to bolster the depth, and potentially with a player who has special teams experience, whether at the college or NFL level.
Linebacker is a competitive position group for the Jaguars. Branson Combs and Ventrell Miller are competing for a starting role, while Jalen McLeod, Parker Hughes, and Yasir Abdullah could be competing for one potential roster spot.
