What PFF grade did Buccaneers rookie Emeka Egbuka earn in his NFL debut?

Emeka Egbuka has been turning heads this training camp and preseason, and the Bucs get ready for Week 1 in the coming weeks. The team is likely to use him right away, while Chris Godwin Jr. is nursing his ankle back from the injury he suffered in 2024.

Egbuka played sparingly in the Bucs’ preseason game last week, as expected for his regular-season role, but that doesn’t mean he didn’t make an impact.

PFF’s Dalton Wasserman took a deep dive into the work of all 32 first-round draft picks who made their debut this past weekend. PFF offers us some deeper insight into the performance, and Wasserman was able to lay out what the work of Egbuka looked like.

Wasserman writes, “Egbuka played just 10 snaps and ran four routes in his NFL debut, but his first reception was a memorable contested catch over Amani Hooker on a deep out route. Egubka will likely battle Jalen McMillan as the potential third option in the Buccaneers’ passing game, but his sound play style and toughness could give him an edge.”

Egbuka’s next task will be facing off against the Steelers’ secondary. He has a chance to build on his respectable 74.3 PFF grade against a Steelers secondary that is looking for answers of its own.
