Florida football will play the first of three games against in-state rivals when it hosts USF at The Swamp.
The No. 15 Florida Gators (1-0) went 2-1 against in-state foes last season, beating USF and Florida State after losing to Miami in its season opener.
“You want to take care of business in these games,” Florida football coach Billy Napier said. “I think we all understand that. Whether it’s Miami, Florida State, Central Florida or South Florida, this alumni group that we’ve got, they like to win.”
Florida is 3-0 all-time against USF. In the last meeting between the two schools, the Gators narrowly defeated the Bulls 31-28 at The Swamp on Sept. 17, 2022.

USF, under third-year coach Alex Golesh, is coming off a 34-7 win over Boise State in its season opener.
“It’s a huge game for us because it’s the next game,” Golesh said. “It’s a huge game for us because it’s an in-state team, it’s a huge game for us, another opportunity on national TV to go showcase what we built, where we’re going, and it will be an exciting Saturday.”
