Troopers report 1 person confirmed dead in crash on I-95 in Mims

One person is dead after an afternoon crash on Interstate 95 in north Brevard County on Friday, Jan. 23.

Preliminary information showed the crash, which occurred at approximately 4:17 p.m. near mile marker 232 in Mims, involved a motorcycle, Florida Highway Patrol reported.

The victim’s identity has not been released.

The sequence of events leading to the crash, which shut down the highway’s southbound lanes, are under investigation, FHP said.
