TCPalm Boys Athlete of the Week (Nov. 10-15)
Football: Marquan Burgess, Fort Pierce Central – The senior wide receiver had 12 receptions for 170 yards and two touchdowns during the Cobras’ 28-27 regional quarterfinal win over Palm Beach Central.
Golf: Jeremy Hsu, Morningside Academy – The Eagles junior finished tied for 25th at the Class 1A state meet after shooting a two-round score of 149.
Football: Drew LaPlante, Fort Pierce Central – The junior quarterfinal completed 24 of 34 passes for 274 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions during the Cobras’ 28-27 regional quarterfinal win over Palm Beach Central.
Football: Champ Monds, Vero Beach – In his first game in nearly three months, the sophomore quarterback completed 21 of 25 passes for 277 yards, three touchdowns and no interception during Vero’s 57-10 regional quarterfinal win over East Ridge.
Soccer: Ameer Nofal, St. Lucie West Centennial – The junior totaled 13 points with five goals and three assists during two Eagles wins. Nofal put up a hat trick with an assist against Somerset College Prep.
Swimming: Lee St. Petery, Sebastian River – The senior put up the second-most points for a Sharks team that finished seventh at the Class 3A state meet. St. Petery placed 11th in the 50-yard freestyle and fourth in the 100-yard freestyle. He also helped the team place seventh in a pair of relays.
Cross Country: Andrew Youssef, Vero Beach – The senior placed fourth at the Region 2-4A meet with a time of 15 minutes, 38.1 seconds.
