SUV strikes bicycle, killing South Carolina man in Alachua County

A 41-year-old South Carolina man was hit and killed while riding a bicycle on County Road 235 in Alachua County, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

The FHP report

According to the report, a 66-year-old Citra man was driving an SUV south on County Road 235 when the vehicle struck a bicycle in the roadway being ridden by a 41-year-old Lexington, South Carolina, man. The bicyclist died from his injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
