The Jacksonville Jaguars do not have a first-round pick in the 2026 NFL draft, but the team is “exploring” options to trade into the first round, according to The Athletic’s Mike Silver.
Silver adds that any possible trade-up scenarios do not involve any of the Jaguars’ current players who are on the roster, likely referencing wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr.
What would it cost the Jaguars to trade up into Round 1?
A potential trade partner in Round 1 could be the Seattle Seahawks, who hold the 32nd pick. As of now, the Seahawks have only four picks in the entire draft, and GM John Schneider has made it known that he is open to trading down.
As you can imagine, moving up from pick 56 to 32 would take quite a haul to do so. Using the Rich Hill trade value chart as our guide, the Jaguars would have to part with pick 56, 81, 124, and 166.
However, with 11 selections in this year’s draft and Jacksonville projected to have double-digit picks next year, the team does have the draft capital to make a splash.
While the Jaguars may be checking in, how serious they are about moving up remains to be seen. Perhaps GM James Gladstone is just doing his due diligence and checking in with teams.
That said, as we’ve seen during tenure as general manager, Gladstone has been more than willing to make a big deal.
EVP Tony Boselli also didn’t rule out the idea of the Jaguars trading up, saying in an interview with Action Sports Jax, “You never know. Stay tuned. You better watch.”
