Palm Bay Police Department briefly evacuated its lobby Friday afternoon due to smoke from a nearby electrical fire.
Lt. Virginia Kilmer, spokeswoman for the department, said an electrical box outside Palm Bay City Hall caught fire for an undetermined reason. Plumes of black smoke were reported in the area and could be seen up and down Port Malabar Road. No damage was reported to any buildings and no people were reported injured, Kilmer said. By 1 p.m., the evacuation had ended. No further details were available as of Friday afternoon.
