The Miami Dolphins re-signed offensive lineman Liam Eichenberg earlier this year, but less than two months later, the team effectively chose his replacement in the 2025 NFL draft when Jonah Savaiinaea was taken in the second round.
So Pro Football Focus thinks it’d make sense if the Dolphins looked for a team interested in Eichenberg’s services.

“After already trading several stars this offseason, Eichenberg could be a logical player to depart next,” PFF’s Bradley Locker wrote. “Eichenberg, a former second-round pick, has not been what Miami likely had hoped he would become. In four years with the Dolphins, he has never posted above a 53.1 PFF overall grade, nor a PFF pass-blocking grade of even 50.0. Playing over 1,000 snaps at exclusively right guard last year didn’t seem to offer Eichenberg much consistency, either.”
Eichenberg, 27, has played in 60 games and started 52 in his four seasons with the Dolphins. While he has consistently struggled throughout his career, the veteran lineman has made starts at all five positions and coaches have valued his versatility.
However, Eichenberg is currently on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list and several other lineman — including newcomers Larry Borom and Daniel Brunskill — are in the mix for roster spots. If the Dolphins could find a team interested in trading assets to acquire Eichenberg, there wouldn’t be much reason to say no.
