One Jaguars position group getting hit hard with injuries

One Jacksonville Jaguars position group is getting hit by injuries early on in training camp.

Cole Van Lanen remains on the physically unable to perform list, but John Shipley of Jaguars on SI noted that by the end of Friday’s practice, Walker Little, Patrick Mekari, Emmanuel Pregnon, Chuma Edoga, and Garrett DiGiorgio were all dealing with injuries.

After practice, Liam Coen did not have any updates.

Van Lanen, of course, is the Jaguars’ left tackle, and Walker has been starting in his absence. Mekari was the starting right guard last season, but his absence has provided Wyatt Milum with opportunities.

Pregnon, the Jaguars’ third-round pick, provides guard depth, while Edoga can play both guard and tackle spots.

With all these players missing, there has been a lot of mixing and matching along the offensive line as the Jaguars cross-train players and search for their best possible configurations.

Time in the pocket for Trevor Lawrence is always going to be vital to the offense’s success, but an improved run game, with the offensive line opening up more steady lanes this season, can help take the Jacksonville offense to a new level in 2026.
