INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A fugitive couple fleeing arrest in North Carolina on attempted murder charges were arrested here June 20.
The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office, SWAT and U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force nabbed Jameon Boulware, 36, and Nicole Decosta, 40, on charges of felony attempted first-degree murder.
“Our team did an outstanding job tracking these attempted murder suspects,” said Sheriff Eric Flowers in a Facebook news release. “We will continue to work with detectives in North Carolina to assist in processing evidence and our jail staff will work on getting them returned to face justice.”
North Carolina detectives issued an arrest warrant for the couple, who subsequently attempted to evade capture.
Decosta was tracked to a friend’s residence in Indian River County, while Boulware was apprehended eight hours later during a high-risk traffic stop. Detectives then tracked down the firearm used in the attempted murder. Details about the incident that precipitated their flight from North Carolina was not immediately available, nor did officials say precisely where the two fugitives were taken into custody.
Both are being held at Indian River County Jail without bail. Charges facing Boulware include being a fugitive from justice for attempted murder, trafficking more than 14 grams of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance and resisting an officer without violence. Decosta faces a charge of being a fugitive from justice for attempted murder.
“To the fugitives out there who think Indian River County is a place you can hide, let this case be a lesson that we will find you,” Flowers said.
