No more mercy: Panama City will end its parking violation grace period on Oct. 1

Better dust off your car change jar and cruise the block for another parking spot. Panama City’s parking violation grace period ends Oct. 1.

The city announced on Sept. 17 that citations will carry financial penalties ranging from $20 to $250, depending on the nature of the violation. The original mercy period stemmed from development efforts downtown, in St. Andrews and along 23rd Street.

Common infractions

Traditional motor vehicles that accumulate three or more violations may be subject to booting or towing, golf carts included, the city’s news release says.
