JACKSONVILLE – Florida basketball center Micah Handlogten exited early in the matchup against Miami on Sunday, Nov. 16.
The center took a hit to the head in the first half, and is unlikely to return, per a team spokesperson. Despite the injury, Florida basketball coach Todd Golden was optimistic for Handlogten to return for UF’s next game.
“He just got banged up a little bit,” said Golden following No. 10 Florida’s 82-68 win over Miami. “He is going to be fine. We held him out for precautionary reasons so I expect him to play Friday.”
Handlogten had registered three rebounds, a steal and an assist against Miami.
Who replaced Micah Handlogten vs Miami?
Following the injury, Florida basketball starting forward Alex Condon checked back into the game. While Condon started the game vs. Miami, he picked up two quick personal fouls, forcing head coach Todd Golden to send him to the bench.
Condon, Reuben Chinyelu and Viktor Mikic went on to shoulder Handlogten’s minutes down the stretch vs. Miami.
