A 75-year-old Lehigh Acres man died after his car crashed with a dump truck.
The incident happened about 6:30 p.m. Aug. 17 along State Road 82 near Corkscrew Road, in Immokalee, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.
Troopers said the 75-year-old Lehigh Acres man attempted to turn left from Corkscrew Road onto westbound State Road 82 while the dump truck, driven by a 60-year-old Lehigh Acres man, was traveling east on State Road 82.
According to troopers, the car turned in front of the approaching dump truck. The front of the dump truck collided with the side of the car.
The older Lehigh Acres man suffered serious injuries and died at a hospital.
He is one of at least 26 deaths resulting from Collier County crashes this year. The dump truck driver did not suffer injuries.
