The 2026 Little League Softball World Series will see a showdown between Lake Mary, Florida, and Toms River, New Jersey. The two teams hoped to add softball titles to their cities’ baseball trophies, but they will meet in the consolation game, instead.
Lake Mary won the 2024 LLWS, and this marks the second straight year the softball team has reached the world stage. Behind lockdown pitching from Chloe Check and Brynn Fieser, Florida opened with two wins by a combined score of 29-0 before falling to North Carolina. They got another shot in the semifinals but lost again 4-0.
Toms River, home of the famous 1998 LLWS champion and 2014 softball champs, saw its team make a remarkable comeback this year. They lost their opener before ace Jaelyn Brown led them to three straight dominating wins to reach the semifinals, where they lost to Kentucky 2-1.

Where is the Little League Softball World Series?
Since 2020, Stallings Stadium at Elm Street Park in Greenville, North Carolina, has hosted the Little League Softball World Series. The stadium sits about a mile northeast of the East Carolina University baseball and softball stadiums.
Is there a mercy rule in Little League softball?
Yes, though it is referred to as the run rule. If a team leads by 10 runs or more after the fourth inning, the losing team must concede, according to Little League Baseball and Softball. If a team leads by 15 or more after three innings, the game is also over.
Little League Softball World Series ages
Players between 10 and 12 years old are eligible to play in the LLSWS. Unlike in baseball, which requires players to be 12 through Sept. 1, Little League Softball’s age restrictions state that players must be 12 by Jan. 1 of the current year. That means girls who are 13 can play in the Little League Softball World Series.
Where is Lake Mary, Florida?
Lake Mary is a suburban city in Central Florida’s Seminole County, about 20 miles north of Orlando. In 2024, the team from Lake Mary became the first Florida team to win baseball’s Little League World Series.
