Jacksonville Jaguars CB/WR Travis Hunter continues to get more reps on defense in training camp, consistent with a pattern that began on Day 1, when he had nine snaps on defense and six on offense.
But the total number of snaps has been roughly the same each day, obviously sticking to a script plotted out during the offseason by Jaguars coaches, with the understanding that Hunter had a season-ending knee injury last year.
Hunter has averaged 14.7 snaps per 11-on-11 team period through seven practices, 5.8 on offense and 9.1 on defense. He has taken more defensive snaps each day except one, on July 31 (Day 3), when he had nine on each side of the ball. That also remains his heaviest workload in camp.

Aside from that, Hunter has taken between 12 and 17 snaps each day.

Hunter had four offensive snaps on Aug. 6 at the Miller Electric Center, matching the fewest on that side of the ball in any one practice for 11-on-11 periods. He added 13 defensive snaps, the most he’s taken in one day, topping 10 on Day 4 and Day 6.
Hunter did not get his hands on a ball while on defense but continued to cover well. On one play, Austin Trammell beat him with an outside move, and Hunter recovered within two steps. Trammell then took off down the sideline, and Hunter stayed with him, forcing quarterback Nick Mullens to throw elsewhere ― incomplete.
Hunter had one reception among his four offensive snaps, during a period in which the offense had to start at its own 1-yard line. He made a diving catch of a Trevor Lawrence pass over the middle for what would have been a first down.
For the first seven days of camp, Hunter has 39 offensive snaps and 64 defensive snaps in 11-on-11 periods, for a total of 103. He had five offensive snaps and seven on defense during 7-on-7 periods but the last time coach Liam Coen scheduled a 7-on-7 period was Day 4 on Aug. 2
