On Saturday, Sept. 13, the “Star Spangled Summer Concert Series,” hosted by Friends of the Bandshell, will feature the “In the Light of Led Zeppelin,” a tribute to one of classic-rock’s enduring deities.

The music starts at 7:15 p.m., with fireworks over the beach at 9:45 p.m.

Marshall Tucker Band stops at Daytona’s Peabody

Bolstered by anthems such as “Heard It in a Love Song,” “Can’t You See” and “Fire on the Mountain,” the Marshall Tucker Band helped define southern rock in the 1970s.

Expect those songs to elicit the biggest reaction when the band plays an 8 p.m. show Friday, Sept. 12, at the Peabody Auditorium in Daytona Beach.

Featuring lead singer Doug Gray, the band’s lone remaining original member, the 2025 edition of the MTB also includes drummer B.B. Borden (Mother’s Finest), bassist/vocalist Ryan Ware, multi-instrumentalist Marcus James Henderson, guitarists/vocalists Chris Hicks and Rick Willis.

Tickets start at $75 at axs.com or the Peabody box office at 600 Auditorium Blvd., Daytona Beach. Visit peabodyauditorium.org for details.

At Daytona’s MOAS, laser rock rules

Here’s another opportunity for a throwback rock music experience, back to the inspired combination of laser light shows and classic rock ‘n’ roll.

That experience lives in the Saturday laser rock concerts at the Lohman Planetarium at the Museum of Arts & Sciences, 352 S. Nova Road in Daytona Beach.

This weekend’s Saturday lineup includes three shows: Laser Vinyl at 7 p.m.; Laser Queen at 8 p.m.; and Laser Genesis at 9 p.m.

Cost is $5 per show for museum members, $7 per show for non-members. Advance purchase is recommended by visiting moas.org or calling the museum at 386-255-0285.

Classic cars on parade in New Smyrna Beach

Expect plenty of old-school rock ‘n’ roll to be part of the atmosphere at Classic Cars on Canal, the monthly showcase of custom, collectible and muscle cars on Saturday, Sept. 13, along Canal Street in downtown New Smyrna Beach. If you have a vehicle that fits that description, you’re welcome to bring it out.

Onlookers, of course, are absolutely welcome to enjoy the mix of music, machines as well as dining and shopping opportunities in the lovely business district.

Hours: 3-6 p.m. Free admission. Visit canalstreetnsb.com for details.

In Flagler, it’s time for Turtle Talk

The popular Turtle Talk program returns this weekend at Gamble Rogers State Recreation Area in Flagler Beach.

It offers participants the opportunity to learn about the important role sea turtles play in Florida’s eco-system and how human actions can help preserve these creatures for future generations.

All ages are welcome. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. The program runs from 10-11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 12, at the park, 3100 S. Oceanshore Blvd., Flagler Beach.

It’s included for the regular park admission of $5 per vehicle.
