FSU lands five-star kicker from Orlando

Florida State has landed another commitment in the 2027 class. Five-star kicker Vance Fones has made his pledge to FSU, and he has also shut down his recruitment per Kolby Crawford of Noles247.

Fones made 28 of his 29 extra points as a junior for The First Academy in Orlando, Florida. He attempted two field goals and made both. For his efforts, Fones was named Second-Team All-District, Second-Team All-State, and Special Teams Player of the Year. Fones also performed very well at the Texas Winter Showcase back in December and the National Underclassmen Challenge in January.

The 6-foot-3, 180-pounder is listed as the No. 21 kicker nationally and the No. 4 in the state of Florida by Kohl’s rankings.

FSU now has 14 commitments in the 2027 cycle. Fones is the fifth blue-chip pledge and their only five-star commitment.
