Florida State showing heavy interest in elite in-state OT

Florida State is heavily pursuing offensive line talent in the 2028 recruiting cycle, and they’re focusing on in-state prospects. Offensive tackle Jackson Snelling out of Cardinal Mooney High School in Sarasota, Florida, is a player that they have circled as a target.

He has several game visits locked in during the season. Although none are to FSU, at least at the moment, they are still one of the programs that have made the most noise in Snelling’s recruitment.

“My visits this fall are going to determine a lot,” Snelling said via Zach Blostein of 247Sports. “There are obviously still some schools I’m looking to get offers from that I feel like I can earn. Right now, the top schools showing the most interest are Clemson, LSU, and Florida State.”

Snelling is the No. 199 overall prospect and the No. 24 offensive tackle in the 247Sports composite rankings. He’s ranked as the No. 25 player in the state of Florida.

His first trip to Florida State was in April for an unofficial visit, and he left with an offer. In June, Snelling was back on campus for a camp. So, they’ve been consistent with their pursuit up until this point.

The Clemson Tigers are setting the pace for Snelling right now, and he’ll see them on two of his game visits. With that said, being an in-state school, Florida State needs to aggressively try to get him back to Tallahassee for a game visit as well.
