Florida football falls in USA TODAY Sports' rerank after Week 7 loss at Texas A&M

Florida football suffered yet another loss during Week 7 of the 2025 campaign, this time to the Texas A&M Aggies at Kyle Field, 34-17. The Gators once again struggled to put together a complete effort and were beaten by a team that played much better than they did.

The season began with the Orange and Blue ranked among the top 25 teams in both the major polls, as well as many of the secondary rankings. After a win in the opener against the LIU Sharks, it has pretty much been all downhill for Billy Napier and Co. — save for a positive blip after the Texas Longhorns victory.

After the latest loss, Florida now finds itself ranked No. 64 in USA TODAY Sports’ rerank after Week 7. That nestles the Gators between the No. 63 Wake Forest Demon Deacons and No. 65 Kansas State Wildcats.

Only two Southeastern Conference schools rank lower: the Kentucky Wildcats (No. 74) and Arkansas Razorbacks (No. 80). This weekend’s opponent, the Mississippi State Bulldogs, is ranked No. 43.
