Florida drops out of D1Baseball top 25 after being swept by Alabama

Florida fell out of the D1Baseball Top 25 rankings following a weekend sweep at the hands of the Alabama Crimson Tide.

The Gators started the season ranked No. 13 and climbed into the top 10 through the first three weekends of the 2026 season. A series loss to High Point in Week 4 led to a significant drop, but a 4-0 week against the Florida State Seminoles and South Carolina Gamecocks led to a five-spot jump a week ago.

The High Point series was a warning for this club, and a disastrous weekend against Alabama saw the hammer dropped. Florida has plenty of time to right the ship, starting with another midweek matchup against Florida State on Tuesday and a weekend series against No. 4 Arkansas.

Four top-10 games in one week is quite the gauntlet, though, and a bad performance could widen the gap between Florida and a top-25 ranking.

D1Baseball Top 25 movement in Week 6

The top 10 held steady with UCLA, Texas, Georgia Tech, Arkansas, Auburn, Mississippi State, Georgia, Oklahoma and Virginia staying put in the Nos 1-9 spots, respectively. Florida State rounds out the top 10 this week, replacing North Carolina State, which fell to No. 14.

The Southeastern Conference still has 10 teams inside the top 25, including six of the top 10. Besides those mentioned above, Ole Miss moved to No. 18 after being unranked, Kentucky dropped four spots to No. 19, Tennessee climbed one spot to No. 21 and Texas A&M rounds out the top 25 after falling two places.
