A 33-year-old bicycle rider sustained life-threatening injuries the morning of Aug. 18 after a car struck her, according to Port St. Lucie Police.
Police about 4:20 a.m. went to the incident at Southeast Crosstown Parkway and Southeast Sandia Drive, which is just east of Southwest Airoso Boulevard, police stated.
The crash happened as a 48-year-old woman drove a Dodge Challenger east on Southeast Crosstown Parkway while the electric-assist bicycle rider, a Port St. Lucie resident, traveled south across Southeast Crosstown Parkway, according to a preliminary investigation.
The 33-year-old woman was taken to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital in Fort Pierce where she was listed in critical condition, police stated.
No other information was immediately available.
