Florida State is looking to get a commitment in the 2028 cycle after three-star wide receiver Lamar Garrison decommitted in February. On Monday, they had one of the top linebackers in the cycle on campus in four-star Kaiden Buchanan.
This was the second time that FSU has hosted him. He first came last June for a camp, and he left with a scholarship offer. Buchanan took to social to express his joy over being back in Tallahassee.
‘Excited to be on campus at FSU this morning! #GoNoles,” Buchanan said.
The 6-foot, 220-pounder is the No. 123 overall prospect and the No. 9 linebacker in the nation per 247Sports composite rankings. He’s also listed as the No. 4 recruit in the state of Mississippi.
Buchanan turned heads immediate as a freshman at Aberdeen High School. He racked up 108 tackles, 11.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery.
His sophomore campaign was very productiveas well. Buchanan registered 75 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, 22 quarterback hurries, three pass breakups, four forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, one blocked punt after transferring Tupelo High School
Buchanan has over 30 offers on the table with schools such as Alabama, Oklahoma, Michigan, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and others in the mix. So, Florida State will need to remain diligent in their pursuit of him.
