The 2026 NFL draft is set to start on Thursday with the Las Vegas Raiders on the clock with the first overall pick, while the Miami Dolphins have 10 picks total, including two in the first round.
Thursday morning, ESPN’s Field Yates released his final mock draft, and after he predicts that the Dolphins will take Miami offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa with pick No. 11, he believes they’ll trade out of No. 30.
“This is the only new trade I’m predicting, as there already has been plenty of action concerning first-round picks,” Yates wrote. “Miami can continue to stockpile draft capital, trading the pick it received from Denver in the Jaylen Waddle trade to the QB-needy Cardinals. But to move back into the first round through this scenario, Arizona would have to give up pick Nos. 34 and 65.”
This trade allows Arizona to move up and select their quarterback, Arizona’s Ty Simpson, and taking him in the first round means they’ll get a fifth-year option on his rookie deal.
For Miami, they move back just a few picks and close the game between their picks at No. 43 in the second round and No. 75 in the third. They need all of the help that they can get, so this deal would make a ton of sense for both sides.
