Crews have been at work at President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Club over the summer, replacing the existing driveway pavers at the historic Palm Beach property.
The existing pavers are being replaced with new blocks made of the same material, coral stone, according to plans provided by the town to the Daily News.
The design and application for the work were submitted to the town by Dustin Mizell of Environment Design Group, records show.
Landscaping at Mar-a-Lago would not be affected by the work, he said in a May 12 letter to the town. Only the property’s northeast driveway that connects Mar-a-Lago’s porte cochere and historic main entrance to South Ocean Boulevard is affected by the work, plans show.
The work could be seen through Mar-a-Lago’s east-facing gate by drivers on South Ocean Boulevard on Sept. 26.
Crews used a compact excavator as part of the work to remove the old pavers, which plans show were cracked and had settled over the years. Work could then begin to install the new coral stone cut pavers.
The plans were approved by town staff, records show.
The building permit was issued a few months ago and construction should be completed within the next month, a town planner told the Daily News.
