It was a busy holiday weekend for the first family, particularly Donald Trump Jr. and his new bride, Bettina Trump.
Days after the Florida socialite, previously known as Bettina Anderson, married President Donald Trump’s eldest son, she changed her handle on Instagram from @bettinaanderson to @bettinatrump.
The couple reportedly tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Palm Beach County, Florida, on Thursday, May 21, according to a local marriage license obtained by the USA TODAY Network’s Palm Beach Daily News. Then, the couple held a ceremony over the long Memorial Day weekend in a tropical locale attended by most members of the Trump family. On May 22, the groom’s father announced he would not be able to attend, saying he felt compelled to stay in Washington, D.C., amid the Iran war.
Photos from the first family were posted on social media, including Instagram posts and Instagram stories, particularly from the groom’s siblings Tiffany Trump, Ivanka Trump and Eric Trump, his eldest daughter Kai Trump, and sister-in-law Lara Trump, who is married to Eric Trump. The location photos show crystal blue waters, white sands and a remote island. Last week, Page Six and CNN reported the wedding ceremony was scheduled for the 2026 Memorial Day weekend in the Bahamas.
Donald Trump Jr. and Bettina Trump started dating in 2024 and announced their engagement at a White House event in December 2025.
