Baker Mayfield Ranks Second in Passing TDs Over Last Three Seasons

Baker Mayfield has already established himself as one of the NFL’s most productive quarterbacks since arriving in Tampa Bay, but a recent stat shared by FanDuel puts his production into an even more impressive perspective. Mayfield ranks second in the NFL in passing touchdowns over the last three seasons, trailing only Jared Goff and coming in ahead of Matthew Stafford.

It’s significant company for a quarterback who wasn’t always viewed as one of the league’s most consistent passers. Since the start of the 2023 season, Mayfield has transformed his career in Tampa Bay. His first season with the Buccaneers provided the foundation, but his 2024 campaign showed just how high his ceiling could be. Mayfield threw for 4,500 yards and 41 touchdowns that season, becoming only the fourth quarterback in NFL history to throw for at least 4,000 yards and 40 touchdowns while completing at least 70% of his passes. His production over the three-year stretch has put him alongside some of the league’s biggest names. In fact, Pro Football Talk previously noted that Mayfield and Goff were tied for the NFL lead with 81 touchdown passes over that span while also ranking first and second in passing yards, respectively.

The Buccaneers are coming off a disappointing 8-9 season, and plenty of questions surround the team heading into the new year. Mayfield himself has acknowledged the need for a bounce-back season, while also expressing confidence that Tampa Bay can surprise people, all in a contract year after failing to come to an agreement with Tampa on a new deal, in which he felt “disrespected” by their offer and was eager to bet on himself. With a healthy receiver core and offensive line in addition to new offensive coordinator Zac Robinson, Mayfield will look to add to those numbers in a big way en route to leading the Buccaneers back to the playoffs.
