1. ON DISPLAY NOW: Art exhibits celebrate summer, Hispanic heritage
Marco Island Center for the Arts is inviting the community to experience two vibrant exhibitions celebrating artistic excellence and cultural diversity. On view now through Sept. 29, are “Summertime,” a juried “Call to Artist” exhibition in the Lauritzen and Rush Galleries, and “Framing the Shape,” a solo exhibition by Honduran-born artist Luis Manzanares in La Petite Galerie, presented as part of ¡Arte Viva!, Collier County’s celebration of Hispanic arts and culture.
There will be a gallery reception at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 8. Guests are invited to meet the artists, enjoy light refreshments, and experience the exhibitions in a welcoming community setting. Both exhibitions are free and open to the public.
Marco Island Center for the Arts is located at 1010 Winterberry Drive, Marco Island. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., and Saturday, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

2. SATURDAY: Stage 2 Improv on Marco Island
The Marco Island Center for the Arts is bringing spontaneous comedy, audience interaction and nonstop laughter to the stage this summer with the return of Stage 2 Improv at Arts Center Theatre.
The next performance will take place at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 15, at Arts Center Theatre, Marco Town Center, next to the Marco Brewery.
Inspired by the hit television show “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” Stage 2 Improv delivers a completely unscripted and unrehearsed comedy experience where audience suggestions inspire every game, scene, and song. No two performances are ever the same, making each show a one-of-a-kind evening of entertainment.

3. ALL WEEKEND: Jurassic Quest in Fort Myers
Jurassic Quest’s giant animatronic dinosaurs are back for another visit. This touring show features life-sized, moving, roaring dinos. Plus, dino rides, fossils, inflatables and more.
From 1 until 8 p.m,. Friday; 8 a.m.-6 p.m., Saturday and 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 14-16. Cost: $30-$45 (or $91 for a Kids Dino-Mite Experience that includes fast-lane access to select dinosaur rides, an exclusive dino meet-and-greet, a face painting session and more). Rides and activities cost extra.
