Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert lands at No. 39 in the NFL Top 100 list ahead of the 2026 season.
Herbert rose 15 spots compared to last season.
Entering the 2025 season, Herbert was ranked No. 56 in the Top 100 list.
Herbert notched his sixth consecutive appearance on the annual list. The No. 39 ranking is the second-highest placement of his career thus far.
The 28-year-old is coming off a solid season, all things considered. Even without his two starting left tackles for most of the season, Herbert still recorded 3,727 passing yards (ranked ninth in the league), completed 340 passes, completed 66.4 percent of his passes, threw for 26 touchdowns, averaged 232.9 yards per game and had a passer rating of 94.1.
“It’s scary man. He makes it look effortless,” Broncos cornerback Patrick Surtain II said of Herbert. “Everytime we play against him, you got to be ready.
“You got to be ready for anything because he’ll make a crazy throw. A crazy athletic play in the backfield. That’s what he does on a consistent basis, so props to him.”
Herbert is set to enter his seventh season in the league, and much is expected of him and the Chargers.
The Chargers are coming off back-to-back 11-win seasons; however, each of those seasons ended with a lone playoff game. Los Angeles was only able to muster 15 points in those two playoff contests, as the offense struggled mightily to get a good rhythm going.
Much of that blame was pointed at Herbert, but they hope that narrative changes with Mike McDaniel calling the plays for the offense.
Herbert is the 10th quarterback to make the Top 100 list.
