For the last dozen years, Dennis Schroder has been a very solid and dependable NBA guard. He had two stints with the Los Angeles Lakers during the 2020-21 and 2022-23 seasons, and he was the runner-up in the balloting for the Sixth Man of the Year award during the 2019-20 campaign.
Schroder also has a fairly impressive national team resume. While representing his native Germany, he won a bronze medal at EuroBasket 2022, and a year later, he drove the country to a FIBA World Cup title. This summer, Schroder helped Germany win it all at EuroBasket 2025.

LeBron James is so impressed with Schroder’s overall basketball career that he made a bold statement during a recent episode of his “Mind the Game” podcast. He said that he wouldn’t be surprised if Schroder gets inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
“I seen a lot of the stats as well and a lot of the accomplishments as well this summer after EuroBasket. If it happens, I wouldn’t be like ‘Oh my God I’m surprised!’ He’s put in the work, man… And that’s a big part of our game. The international game is a big part of our game in the whole grand scheme of things. What they’ve been able to accomplish, what they’ve been able to do, come here to America and play in our league and a lot of our guys go and play overseas as well. It’s all totality.”
In the NBA, Schroder has career averages of 13.9 points and 4.9 assists in 27.3 minutes a game. He was named the MVP of last year’s FIBA World Cup after averaging 17.9 points and 6.7 assists per game, and he won the MVP of this year’s EuroBasket tournament after putting up 20.3 points, 3.4 rebounds and 7.2 assists a contest.
This year, he’s a member of the Sacramento Kings, a young, rebuilding team that is looking to become competitive again, and he will be part of a promising backcourt rotation that includes Zach LaVine, Keon Ellis and another former Lakers player in Malik Monk.
