Crews have responded to a brush fire burning near Yerba Buena Road southwest of Circle X Ranch in the Santa Monica Mountains.
The Yerba Fire reported shortly before 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 17 was burning near Mipolomol Road and Yerba Buena, on the southeastern edge of Ventura County. The fire had burned an estimated 2 acres as of 10 p.m., according to radio traffic.
Firefighters had responded on the ground and by air. Shortly before 10:30 p.m., officials reported that crews had stopped the fire’s forward progress.
Authorities initially issued an evacuation warning, which generally means the threat is not yet imminent, for areas along Yerba Buena and Deer Creek roads. The warning was lifted around 11:20 p.m.
Firefighters were continuing work to get a line around the blaze and douse hot spots.
