The Cleveland Cavaliers have started the NBA playoffs in dominant fashion. This team ended the season with great momentum, and so far, the Cavs have been miles ahead of the Toronto Raptors. The big 3 for Cleveland were just as good in Game 2 as they were at the end of the regular season. Donovan Mitchell and James Harden were electric, and Evan Mobley dominated the paint.
Donovan Mitchell dropped 30 points, had 7 rebounds, and 5 assists, leading the way for Cleveland. James Harden was just as good with 28 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 steals on the night. The backcourt of James Harden and Donovan Mitchell has been playing like the best backcourt in the NBA since joining forces.
Evan Mobley had one of the best postseason games in his career. Mobley had 25 points, 8 rebounds, and a block. Mobley was 11-13 from the field. When he is being aggressive, and efficient he is at his most dangerous. The guard play will take up most of the attention, but on nights where Mobley is putting up 25 and having 8 rebounds, you are not beating Cleveland.
Evan Mobley is continuing to dominate in his own way and be a perfect complement to what his elite guards can do on a night-to-night basis. The Cavs were highly successful last season, but they came up short in the playoffs. This season it feels like the Cavaliers finally got the right big 3, maybe one that can win a championship. Evan Mobley will be a big factor for that.
