With the 2025 MLB season underway, the Detroit Tigers are headed back to Comerica Park to prepare for their home opener against the Chicago White Sox.
The Tigers (2-4) concluded their first six-game road trip of the season Wednesday after falling to the Seattle Mariners 3-2, winning two of their three games against their American League West opponent. The team opened up the season dropping their first three games against the defending champion Los Angeles Dodgers.
Detroit and Chicago started their seasons last year on similar trajectories with both teams projected to miss the playoffs near the All-Star break. The Tigers found their stride in the second half of the season and went on a 31-11 run, earning a playoff berth for the first time since 2014. Conversely, the White Sox would close the season out with a 39-121 record, the fourth worst record in MLB history according to ESPN.
