The Port Huron Elks Lodge 343 represented by 343 Elks member and past Lodge Esquire Timothy J. Meikle and Scott R. Harris PER, DVP, ENF Chairmen had the pleasure of presenting the 2023-2024 ENF-CIP $2,000.00 Gratitude Grant on Tuesday, June 20th to St. John’s United Church of Christ Food Pantry Director Sharen Brenton, Reverend Dr. Richard Hotchkin, along with pantry volunteers PER Robert Brenton, Dave Heino and Vicki Heino, all Elk Lodge 343 members.

The St. John’s United Church of Christ food pantry provides over 100-150 families a week, with food, canned and dry goods, health and hygienic products which are needed by so many families in our local area. Sadly, donations from church members, local agencies, and businesses have drastically decreased, yet the demand is still the same for families with needs, along with the homeless and poor, and yet a new category, the working-class poor.  With the support of our Port Huron Elks Lodge 343 membership and this Gratitude Grant, these funds will assist the Church group in purchasing and providing the goods and products, while assisting in organizing the pantry for ease of processing and delivering.

St. John’s United Church of Christ is located at 710 Pine Street, Port Huron, MI. 48060 and can be reached at (810) 984-5031.
