By The Port Huron Elks Lodge 343
The Port Huron Elks Lodge 343 Past Exalted Rulers Association (PER) presented their (4) Educational Assistance Program Scholarships Wednesday, June 5th. The PER’s received (14) applicants. The competition was extremely close, and the choices were difficult to make. The PER’s as a group, completed the evaluation process of all applicants. Congratulations, to Lily McNaughton, from Croswell-Lexington HS, Aiden Roulo, St. Clair HS, Austin Trudeau, Port Huron HS and, Nathan Sparschu Port Huron Northern HS who were selected as the awarded recipients during the PER Awards dinner.
This PER scholarship program is available to local graduating High School Seniors, who will be attending college and/or a trade school from our area. The applicant is awarded a $500.00 scholarship through this “EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM”. Students are not obligated to use this solely for classroom expenses. It is meant to alleviate the financial burdens of attending any of the vocational, college or university they have chosen to attend.
A special thank you for attending our awards dinner to our First Lady Laura Nesbitt and to Sonya Snellenberger, who was a guest of Lily McNaughton. Congratulations to all (14) applicants who applied. We wish all of you the best of luck.
