One tribe on CBS’s “Survivor” won a pair of chickens, but the other hungry, discouraged tribe lost its fire-making flint and sent a member home.
Limited food, poor sleep and unforgiving heat pushed the Hina tribe’s mental bounds. Hina lost a physically demanding immunity challenge and voted off law clerk Jason Treul, 32. The tribe also lost the ability to make fire as a penalty for losing the challenge.
Kele, on the other hand, won the immunity challenge and claimed two chickens as its members formed new alliances and strengthened current ones as Sage Ahrens-Nichols grew suspicious of Shannon Fairweather’s tactics.
Overall, 12 castaways remain to compete next week.
In addition to the immunity challenge, there was a solo journey that required each tribe to choose one castaway to travel by boat to a different site to compete for an advantage. Nate Moore, from Hina, and MC Chukwujekwu, from Kele, had to move nearly 100 sand bags under a time limit lose their votes.
The pair moved the bags together and had to chance to search for a hidden immunity idol before the time ran out. Chukwujekwu searched for the idol, but Moore lied about the amount of time left so Chukwujekwu stopped early — neither walked away with an idol, but they successfully moved the bags and kept their votes.
