In addition to the local races listed below, statewide decisions include governor, secretary of state, attorney general and a seat in the U.S. Senate.
All information is according to official announcements from candidates and county-based election records.
Proposals for November
Handy Township road millage proposal
Handy Township is seeking to levy a new millage of up to one mill ($1 per $1,000 of taxable income) for 2027-2030 to construct, preserve, improve, repair and maintain roads and bridges in the Township. In its first year, the millage would collect approximately $471,000.
Village of Pinckney Pinckney Police Department millage proposal
The Pinckney Police Department is seeking 2.5 mills ($2.50 per $1,000 of taxable income) to fund and equip the department for 2027-2029. In its first year, the millage would raise approximately $248,100.05.
Brighton Area Schools
Brighton Area Schools is seeking to borrow $90,275,000 for the purpose of remodeling, refurnishing and equipping school facilities. The millage levied in 2027 would be .11 ($.11 per $1,000 of taxable income). The estimated annual millage to settle the debt is estimated to be 1.18 mills ($1.18 on each $1,000 of taxable income).
Hartland Consolidated Schools sinking fund millage proposal
Hartland Consolidated Schools is seeking to increase its millage .5 mills ($0.50 on each $1,000 oftaxable valuation) for 10 years, 2027 to 2036. This proposal will replace the school district’s building and site sinking fund millage previously approved by voters that expired with the 2026 tax levy. In its first year, the millage will raise approximately $1,041,235.
