Week 6 football roundup: Area MAC teams go 5-0 for second time this season

PORT HURON — Here are the results from Friday’s high school football games in the Blue Water Area.

Marine City 61, Sterling Heights 7

Luke Muscat rushed for 95 yards and three touchdowns on five carries to lead Marine City (5-1 overall, 4-0 MAC Silver). He also caught an interception on defense. Eli Volkman’s lone passing attempt resulted in a 39-yard touchdown to Dakota Droptiny.

The Mariners entertain Eastpointe at 7 p.m. on Oct. 10.

Marysville 24, Madison Heights Lamphere 21

Ty Busen ran for 124 yards and one touchdown to lead Marysville (4-2 overall, 3-1 MAC Gold). Hunter Likins threw a 54-yard touchdown pass to Jonathon Fraley. Defensively, Levi Acquaviva caught an interception and recorded a sack.

The Vikings welcome Warren Woods-Tower at 7 p.m. on Oct. 10.

Port Huron 35, Utica Ford 12

Port Huron (4-2 overall, 3-1 MAC Blue) travels to Warren Cousino at 7 p.m. on Oct. 10.

Port Huron Northern 35, Fraser 0

Vincent Vennettilli went 3-for-11 passing for 83 yards and two touchdowns to guide Northern (5-1 overall, 4-0 MAC Blue). All three passes went to Lincoln Watkins, who also ran for a 23-yard touchdown. Amir Morelan added a 28-yard rushing touchdown. Defensively, Landon Malane returned an interception 69 yards for a score.

The Huskies host Warren Mott at 7 p.m. on Oct. 10.

St. Clair 42, St. Clair Shores South Lake 14

Jaxon Turnbull scored three touchdowns (two rushing, one passing) for St. Clair (3-3 overall, 2-2 MAC Silver). Braden Schalk and Graham Parlardg each had a touchdown reception. Ter’Rique Walker ran for one score. Defensively, the team had five takeaways.

The Saints head to Sterling Heights at 7 p.m. on Oct. 10.

Clarkston Everest 42, Cardinal Mooney 0

Cardinal Mooney (0-6 overall, 0-3 Catholic) entertains Allen Park Cabrini at 1 p.m. on Oct. 11.

Croswell-Lexington 21, Algonac 6

Cros-Lex (2-4 overall, 2-3 BWAC) visits Imlay City at 7 p.m. on Oct. 10.

Algonac (1-5 overall, 0-5 BWAC) welcomes Yale at 7 p.m. on Oct. 10.

Elkton-Pigeon-Bay Port Laker 44, Sandusky 20

Sandusky (2-4 overall, 0-3 BTC White) travels to Caro at 7 p.m. on Oct. 10.

Harbor Beach 50, Marlette 0

Marlette (1-5 overall, 0-4 BTC Black) heads to Vassar at 7 p.m. on Oct. 10.

Richmond 35, Imlay City 14

Richmond (6-0 overall, 5-0 BWAC) entertains Almont at 7 p.m. on Oct. 10.

Brady Homer rushed for 18 yards and two touchdowns on nine carries for Imlay City (2-4 overall, 1-4 BWAC). The Spartans welcome Cros-Lex at 7 p.m. on Oct. 10.

Yale 24, North Branch 21

Yale (3-3 overall, 2-3 BWAC) travels to Algonac at 7 p.m. on Oct. 10.

Player of the Week

Richmond’s Gaige Towner was voted the Times Herald’s Prep Football Player of the Week for Week 5. He totaled five tackles, one sack and one fumble recovery in the Blue Devils’ 37-7 victory over North Branch.
