Weather service confirms Eaton County tornado. Where it struck

The National Weather Service on Monday, June 15, said it had confirmed at weak tornado struck near Grand Ledge in Eaton County this past week.

The weather service said the EF-0 tornado struck about 2 miles southwest of Grand Ledge on June 9.

“This EF-0 tornado had maximum estimated winds of 75 mph and a path length of around 3.2 miles,” the weather service said. “One outbuilding was destroyed. Otherwise mostly tree damage or minor property damage due to fallen trees occurred along the path.”

The Eaton County tornado is one of several confirmed from last week’s storms.

Two tornadoes were confirmed in Saginaw and Genesee counties, and two more were confirmed the following day in Cass and Kent counties.
