The Cheboygan area saw a lot of exciting volleyball this past campaign.
It also saw a ton of outstanding players perform at a high level.
With the area volleyball season now complete, here’s your chance to vote on who was the best player in the Cheboygan area. The poll opens on Monday and closes at 11 p.m. on Thursday.
Here’s a look at the nominees:
Makaela Steiner, Cheboygan, Senior – A all-around star, Steiner delivered an excellent senior season as Cheboygan’s setter. During her last campaign, she eclipsed 2,000 career assists.
Tessa Lake, Cheboygan, Senior – One of Cheboygan’s top hitters, Lake was a standout with both her attacking and defense. She also reached 500 career kills.
Presley Chamberlain, Cheboygan, Senior – It was another big defensive campaign for Chamberlain, a superb libero who surpassed 1,000 career digs early in the season.
Diem Schley, Cheboygan, Sophomore – The best young attacker in the area, Schley eclipsed 500 career kills and was consistently one of Cheboygan’s top offensive performers.
Chloe Robinson, Inland Lakes, Senior – Capped off an impressive career by leading the Bulldogs attacking-wise and defensively.
Jenna Stubbs, Inland Lakes, Senior – Another excellent all-around performer, Stubbs was once again one of the top Bulldogs on the court.
Kerry-Ann Ming, Mackinaw City, Senior – Established herself as an elite player in the Northern Lakes Conference and was consistently one of Mackinaw City’s top attackers.
Brooklyn Boughner, Onaway, Sophomore – One of the area’s breakout performers, Boughner established herself as a top young player with her impressive all-around game.
Amya Janusky, Onaway, Senior – What a final season it was for Janusky, an outstanding defender who broke Onaway’s school record for blocks in a match and career in the same match.
Lanie Irwin, Pellston, Senior – Had a stellar senior season that saw her surpass 1,000 career kills and 1,000 career digs. One of the best attackers in the area.
Breanna Willis, Pellston, Senior – Once again leading the Hornets at setter was Willis, who reached 2,000 career assists and was influential all over the court.
