The Moore Mechanical Athlete of the Week for the Petoskey-area is back for the spring sports season!
All results for this week’s poll come from Monday, April 6 through Saturday, April 11 from Emmet and Charlevoix Counties.
We’re still early in the spring season, so not all schools and teams have had a chance to get going just yet, but there were enough standouts to highlight.
Vote for these athletes from Monday, April 13 to 4 p.m., Thursday, April 16. Look for another Moore Mechanical Athlete of the Week from the Petoskey-area next week.
To have athletes included, make sure game results/stats/records are sent to Drew Kochanny of the News-Review at dkochanny@petoskeynews.com or texted.
Alexandra Petok, Petoskey track
Petok got the season going in Mount Pleasant with a first place in the 100 hurdles, first place in the long jump – a new personal best leap of 16-feet, 4.5-inches – then a third place finish in the 200 meter dash.

Matelski had a pair of goals in Boyne City’s season opener at Kingsley last week, then she also signed to continue her basketball playing days at Kirtland Community College.
