GAYLORD ― The Gaylord Herald Times Athlete of the Week poll is back!
Each week, candidates from Gaylord, St. Mary and Johannesburg-Lewiston High School will be nominated for their performances over the past seven days. Come back and vote for who you think had the best performance; winners will be announced on social media on Tuesday.

Kaven Cole, Gaylord football
Rushed for another 97 yards and three touchdowns in the win over Petoskey, helping Gaylord secure the Jaycees Trophy.
Grayson Glazier, Gaylord football
Totaled 6.5 tackles and had a key interception vs. Petoskey, setting up Gaylord’s first touchdown in a 19-13 win over their rivals.
Lucas Hella, Gaylord soccer/football
Scored a hat trick in a 4-2 win over Mount Pleasant for the soccer team and kicked a PAT in the football team’s win over Petoskey.
Houghton Dreffs, Gaylord soccer
Scored his own hat trick in Gaylord’s 8-0 win over Boyne City.
Addison McDonald, Gaylord volleyball
The senior is closing in on a career kills milestone after totaling 18 kills, 8 digs and 3 blocks in a win over Sault Ste. Marie.
Katie Berkshire, Gaylord CC
Set another new PR and won the Veterans Serving Veterans Invite with a time of 17 minutes, 11.4 seconds.
Lexi Hogle, JoBurg volleyball
Totaled 28 assists in a conference victory over Mancelona.
Joey Smokevitch, JoBurg football
Ran for a team-high 111 yards vs. Harbor Springs.
Peyton Basinski, JoBurg football
Rushed for 93 yards and completed a pass against Harbor.
Joe Jacobson, GSM football
Rushed for 108 yards and 2 TDs vs. Bellaire.
