Another day, another chance to help choose one of the top athletes from the Gaylord area.
The high school baseball season has come and gone after another successful season for area teams, a second-straight district title in the books for Gaylord St. Mary and another near 20 win season for Gaylord. Now, we need your help determining the Fan’s Choice Baseball Player of the Year.
Check out the top players from Gaylord, St. Mary and JoBurg up for the final award, and choose the top performer of 2026.
Josias Ferrett, Gaylord — The reigning GHT Baseball Player of the Year hit .383 with 40 runs scored and 12 RBIs while going 5-1 overall on the mound, allowing just 16 hits in 49 innings of work while striking out 89 batters.
Brady Shepherd, Gaylord — Shepherd hit .379 in his senior season, leading GHS with 31 RBIs while going 5-3 on the mound with 58 strikeouts.
Zayden Mullins, Gaylord — A transfer catcher, Mullins hit .378 with 25 RBIs and 23 runs scored in his first season as a Blue Devil.
Cal Royce, St. Mary — Despite his season on the mound being cut short due to injury, Royce still went 6-0 overall without allowing an earned run, striking out 79 batters in 33 2/3 innings. Also hit .576 with 55 RBIs and 56 runs scored.
Logan Greenier, St. Mary — Greenier hit .464 with 39 RBIs and 30 runs scored as one of GSM’s best hitting threats.
Tanner Basinski, JoBurg — Basinski only allowed 19 earned runs over 49 innings, striking out 101 batters in 12 appearances. He also hit .355 with 10 RBIs and 12 runs scored.
