Vote for Livingston Daily Athlete of the Week (Jan. 19-24, 2026)

And, just like that, we have a bowler on the ballot for Livingston Daily Athlete of the Week.

Brighton senior Natalie Barrett is one of the few bowlers to ever make the ballot. We had an aberration last year when three bowlers made the ballot after regionals, because Livingston County had a strong showing and regional results are easily accessible on the MHSAA site.

Brighton is the only county school that reports bowling results to the Livingston Daily, so whatever is happening elsewhere at bowling lanes around the area is a mystery to me. Quite frankly, some coaches in more high-profile sports don’t report results either, so those kids miss out on recognition immediately after a strong performance and the potential of being up for Athlete of the Week.

I’m not hard to find. My email is at the bottom of this story.

Voting is open until 3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28. Vote early, vote often.

Hartland hockey player Bryce Fletemier was last week’s Athlete of the Week.

Natalie Barrett, Brighton bowling: Barrett won the individual portion of the Mark Voight Memorial tournament in Canton with a three-game series of 551. She had a 354 series against Northville and a 371 series with a 211 game against Howell.

Ethan Harrison, Livingston Christian basketball: Harrison scored 30 points, shooting 7-for-9 from the 3-point line, during the Falcons’ 76-60 victory over Washtenaw Christian.

Kendall Nokovich, Hartland basketball: Nokovich hit three 3-pointers and was 9-for-10 from the line, finishing with a career-high 26 points in a 73-61 victory over Brighton.

Rayna Richardson, Brighton wrestling: Richardson (19-5) pinned state-ranked junior Anna Buurma (27-5) of Fowlerville in 3:32 to win the 130-pound championship at the Ovid-Elsie Invitational.

Luke Storm, Howell hockey: Storm had three goals and one assist during a 7-5 victory over Hartland. He has 24 goals and 24 assists in 19 games to lead the top-ranked Highlanders in scoring.
