COLDWATER, MI — Residents will gather tonight for a candlelight prayer vigil honoring Public Safety Director Joe Scheid, 54, who died suddenly Monday evening.
The organizers have moved the informal event, which is set for 9 p.m., to the southwest quadrant of Four Corners Park at the corner of Division and West Chicago Street.
The invitation is for the community to pray, reflect, and support Scheid’s family, first responders, and colleagues.
Organizers describe the vigil as a time to remember his nearly 30 years of service and leadership, and to stand together “in gratitude, in remembrance, in hope.”
All are welcome to attend as the city pays tribute to a public servant whose legacy of keeping Coldwater safe endures.
