Two people were seriously injured after a three-vehicle crash June 25 in Oceola Township, according to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were dispatched around 7:30 p.m. to the intersection of Highland Road and Musson Road in Oceola Township. Their investigation reportedly showed a 2013 Tesla Model S driven by an 18-year-old Howell man was traveling east on Highland Road when it struck a 2024 Honda CR-V driven by a 62-year-old Howell woman.
The Honda CR-V had stopped on Highland Road and was attempting a left turn onto Musson Road, wrote LCSO. The collision’s force caused the Honda CR-V to enter the westbound lanes of travel, causing a secondary crash with a 2021 Dodge Ram driven by a 39-year-old Howell woman.
The 18-year-old was transported by EMS to Trinity Health Ann Arbor with serious injuries. The 62-year-old woman was taken to the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, also with serious injuries. The 39-year-old woman and a 9-year-old passenger were taken to the same hospital with minor injuries.
Police said alcohol and drugs don’t appear to be a factor in the crash, but seatbelt use and distracted driving remain under investigation.
