A 13-month-old child was found inside an impounded vehicle Saturday in Eastpointe, according to the city police department.
Eastpointe police had few details about the incident, but said in a post on Facebook that officers were called to a local tow yard about the child being found in an impounded vehicle. The child is alive and is being medically evaluated.
Police are in contact with local agencies to investigate the circumstances surrounding the impoundment, as it wasn’t a car Eastpointe police had contact with, according to police.
